What are the different available reward types and how do they work?
There are currently nine different reward types detailed below available to merchants using Trezoro on Clover.
Trezoro is a modular system, so you may use these in isolation or a combination to create a truly unique rewards program that works for your business and your customers.
Customers earn points linked to their spending, once they reach certain targets they can exchange the points for rewards. Rewards can be free items, a percentage off a future purchase or store credit against a future purchase.
Unlike other rewards programs we offer you complete flexibility on the points set up:
- Choose the number of points per $
- Choose whether Sales Tax is eligible for points or not
- Exclude specific categories from earning points (for example, many merchants exclude sale items)
Customers earn a punch/stamp for purchasing specific items, once they reach a target they can exchange these for a reward.
You can set up punches to be earned either on categories or individual items.
3) SIGN UP INCENTIVE
Getting that new customer back in for a second visit is hard and where businesses lose the most customers! Get them signed up to your rewards program and give them an incentive to come through the door again soon with a sign-up incentive.
Rewards can be free items, a percentage off a future purchase, store credit against a future purchase or points to get them started.
4) BIRTHDAY REWARD
Show your customers that they are valued and offer them a small incentive to come and spend their birthday money with you! You can set an expiry on this reward type so that customers are required to act soon in order to benefit from this. Rewards can be free items, a percentage off a future purchase, store credit against a future purchase or the ability to earn points at a different speed (example: double points for a week!)
On the day of their birthday, customers will receive an email wishing them a happy birthday and letting them know about their reward, and the reward will be added to their account. If they do not claim it in the required time period it will be removed from their account automatically.
5) LOST CUSTOMER RECOVERY
Tempt back lapsed customers with a reward. The reward is added to their account automatically and you can optionally notify them automatically. Set the reward expiration to create a sense of urgency for your customer to return.
6) VIP TIERS
Want to make your high spenders feel extra special and show them that their patronage is valued? Use VIP tiers to do this! After reaching a spending target set by you, they can be rewarded with free items, a percentage off a future purchase, store credit against a future purchase, or the ability to earn points at a different speed either as a one-off or on a recurring basis.
The VIP status can be set to expire after a time frame set by you.
Customers can bulk purchase items in advance, for example instead of buying a coffee from you every day for 10 days, you could offer them a small discount to buy 10 coffees in advance. This reduces the likelihood of them being tempted away by the competition, improves cash flow for you and in some cases can reduce transaction fees by having a single larger transaction as opposed to several small ones. 9) BONUS POINTS
You can set specific inventory items to generate bonus points, this can be a great alternative to discounting and a great way to create buzz around slow movers.
